Celebrate this Octobers Friday the 13th and all weekend long, with this list of events, starting on the evening of Friday 10/13/2023 through Sunday 10/14/2023

As the crisp autumn air settles in, it's the perfect time to gather the family for some delightful fall activities. Here are six fantastic ideas to make this weekend memorable:

1. **Pumpkin Patch Adventure:**

Kick off the fall festivities by visiting a local pumpkin patch. Let the kids roam through the pumpkin-lined fields, picking out their favorites. Many patches also offer additional attractions like corn mazes, hayrides, and petting zoos, providing a day full of fun for the entire family. One of our favorites is Duffield’s Farm! In addition to that list they also have apple picking, a playground, and a delightful market. Don’t forget to grab the apple cider donuts to round out the day.

Kickoff the weekend this Friday the 13th at 6PM to check out their “Family Fun Night”.

2. **Scenic Nature Hike:**

Take advantage of the breathtaking fall foliage with a family hike in a nearby nature reserve or park. The changing colors of the leaves create a stunning backdrop, making it an ideal time to explore the outdoors together. Pack some snacks and enjoy a picnic amidst the beauty of nature. We enjoy Washington Lake Park. The scenic trails are a relaxing start to the day. This Saturday they have a Food Truck Festival too from 10am-6pm!

3. **Fall Festival Fun:**

Speaking of festivals…..Check out any fall festivals happening in your community. These events often feature a variety of activities, from arts and crafts to live music. Look for festivals that cater to families, offering games, face painting, and tasty autumn treats. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the spirit of the season.

This Saturday from 10am-4pm Barrington is hosting a Harvest Festival that looks to be worth stopping by!

There is also an indoor option in Marlton on Sunday from 12pm-6pm that will have Vendors, food trucks and music.

4. **Haunted House Tour:**

After the sun sets, venture out to discover all the spooky decorations the neighborhoods have to offer. This is one of our favorite family traditions. Pack some flashlights, blankets, snacks and amp up your best haunted playlist. Turn on the tunes as you ride through local streets. Some homes allow you to walk around their property…. If you dare....... mwahahaha.

Our favorite south jersey map to navigate to some of the best houses is on The Lights and Sights webpage for south jersey. There is a map application with all the home’s locations or you can scroll their facebook page to pick out your favorite spots yourself.

*For a lazy Sunday or a rainy day, these can be swapped out or incorporated for indoor fall fun.

5. **Cozy Family Movie Night:**

Create a warm and inviting atmosphere at home by hosting a cozy family movie night. Choose classic fall-themed movies, such as those centered around Halloween or Thanksgiving. Prepare some popcorn, gather blankets, and let everyone enjoy a relaxing evening together. Our top halloween family movies are

-Ghostbusters

-Casper

-Hocus Pocus

-Adams Family

6. **Bake and Decorate:**

Embrace the flavors of fall by spending time together in the kitchen. Bake seasonal treats like apple pie, pumpkin bread, or cinnamon rolls. Afterward, make it a family affair by decorating the baked goods with autumn-themed icing or sprinkles. Not only will you create delicious treats, but you'll also build lasting memories. Sometimes we decorate with anything we have on hand too, such as pretzel sticks, marshmallows, animal crackers or anything we find fun.

This weekend, dive into the spirit of fall with these family-friendly activities. Whether you're exploring pumpkin patches, enjoying nature, attending a festival, visiting spooky decorated houses, having a cozy movie night, or baking together, these experiences will surely make this autumn weekend one to remember.
